Yuniet Lombida Prieto is a Cuban musician, saxophonist, arranger, and conductor. Originally from the province of Camagüey, he comes from a family of musicians. He studied music in Havana completing a Masters Degree in 2017. With more than 10 years of experience as a music teacher, he served on faculty of the National School of Music in Havana, obtaining exemplary results.
During his performance career, he has shared the stage with countless prominent artists which has led him to perform on innumerable international stages. He was awarded prizes in Musicalia Contests, Jojazz 1012 and 1016. Yuniet was awarded the 2019 Grammy Award with the album: “A journey through Cuban music” by the Artist Aymée Nuviola.
Currently he is dedicated to studying the roots of Cuban music not only to continue the cultural tradition, but also to fuse Cuban music with the music of other cultures.
