Martina Biondi, Cello

Martina Biondi is an Italian cellist who began studying the cello at the age of five years with F. Castiglione. At the age of 17 she graduated at the Conservatory of Music "Stanislao Giacomantonio" with honors and in 2014 she graduated with honors at the “Accademia di Santa Cecilia“ in the Postgraduate Course of Cello with Giovanni Sollima. She followed Masterclasses with F.M. Ormezowsky, Tomasz Strahl, Jens Peter Maintz (Cello Rutesheim Akademy), Antonio Meneses (Accademia Chigiana), Peter Bruns, Gary Hoffman at the famous Kronberg Academy, Franz Helmerson..

Despite her young age, she has won numerous national and international competitions: 2°Prize Cittá di Vittorio Veneto, 1° Prize Crescendo Competition (as well as the best cellist and the best Cassadó Suite), 2° Prize Premio Geminiani.

In 2013 at 18 years old she is principal cellist of the “Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra”, conducted by Riccardo Muti with whom she played in the most prestigious musical venues like: Royal Opera House of Muscat, Emirates Palace Auditorium of Abu Dhabi, Grosses Festspielhaus of Salzburg, Teatro Metropolitan of Tokyo.

Martina is often invited as a Pricipal Cello in an established Orchestra as Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino,Orchestra del Teatro San Carlo.

Currently she lives in Berlin, where she finished her Master at the “Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler“ with NicolasAltstaedt.
