Jorge Aragón has worked in over 50 record productions as a pianist, composer, music producer, orchestrator and arranger. Aragón has composed for symphony orchestra since he was 15 years old and his first work for this format was at 18 years old. His work ranges from classical music, jazz, pop to the new Cuban trova.
Aragón is a winner of the classical piano competition, Amadeo Roldán-2006 and the international jazz competition, Jojazz 2008. He is the pianist and arranger of the renowned singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez. He is also the musical director of the concert for the 500 years of Havana 2019, where he performs orchestral compositions together with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Lyceum of Havana, directed by maestro José A. Méndez.
Aragón was invited to the Sundance Festival 2020, where he performed a solo piano concert in celebration of music in film. He was also invited to the Sundance Film Music and Sound Design Lab 2019 at Skywalker Sound. His was awarded the 2018 Cubadisco Grand Prize for the album “Libre de Pecado” and has recently composed the soundtrack for the film "Candela" by the Dominican director Andrés Farías.
He has made international tours in several countries such as: USA, Japan, Germany, France, Holland, Spain, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, performing in different concert halls such as the Kennedy Center in the city of Washington and the Central Park in New York, among others.
